Messiaen’s transcendent and regal Louange from the Quartet for the End of Time opens Belvedere's October program. It is followed by Schulhoff’s Concertino for flute, viola, and bass, which blends folk idioms from his native Czech land with late Romanticism and post-WWI avant-gardism. Domenic Salerni brings his dynamic first piano trio, while Dvořák’s colorful Dumky trio delves deep into the vivid mood and tempo swings of the Slavic folk song.
